OUR PARTNERS
Of course, we couldn’t make a change in STEM education without our stakeholders and supporters. They have encouraged and helped us at every stage along the way and really inspired our girls to take action.
The aim of VicRoads is to reduce road trauma on Victoria's roads. If there is a problem in your community with vehicles travelling too fast along our roads; speeding through local shopping strips; or not driving to the conditions, Vic Roads can help address local road safety issues.
As the eyes and ears of your community, you have valuable insight into the expectations your community has about road safety. You also have the ability to influence and lead a positive community conversation about safer speeds and its connection to reducing road trauma and creating vibrant communities.
We are pleased to announce that Mount Evelyn Primary School is working in partnership with Vic Roads to reduce speeds on our roads.
The Towards Safer Speeds Challenge offers one-off grants of up to $50,000 for road safety projects. The STEM Girls have been successful to obtain funding from Vic Roads to change driver behaviour and reduce speeds.
We were inspired by MEEPPA to have an environmental focus for our crossing.
Mt Evelyn Community House engages people to connect, learn, be inspired and contribute in our local community. We offer innovative programs for all ages based on community needs including social, educational and well-being activities.
We are a not for profit organisation managed by a volunteer committee of management, funded by the Victorian State Government and Yarra Ranges Council.
Based in the main street of the Mt Evelyn township, we manage both the Community House and Reading Room (former Library) from this vibrant space. We also utilise the surrounding buildings to run programs, workshops, events and for community hire.
The Mt Evelyn Community House is proud to involved within the Towards Safer Speeds challenge.
The Yarra Ranges Council provided knowledge and skills in engineering and project development.
We specialise in Art that communicates and instigates change in behaviour. Zest Events International is proud to work with Mt. Evelyn Primary School on this STEM Road Safety project, to create awareness and make a safer environment for students and the community. The World is Our Canvas.
Wildeye is a web design and development studio and has been involved in Mount Evelyn community groups and initiatives for many years. We are thrilled to be the creative and technology support partner for the STEM Girls project.
